Some transbrakes will pick up reverse when in the neutral position of the shifter, or I've driven a car that does this. It was a sportsman brake FWIW. I'm not sure if it's caused by something else, I do know my car does not do this but its a Pro brake.
To anyone considering a transbrake, buy one from a "known" company. It will cost more up front but you will save more in the long run when buying say a "redneck performance" brake where they try to use this awesome idea of tricking a manual VB into thinking its a brake. How does it work? It doesn't.
