Default COATED ROD BEARING QUESTION!

Hey guys,i am going to throw a new set of rod bearings in my motor while i have it out.
There was not much wear and i could prob have reused them but i figure i would put in new ones.
The bearings in it now are federal mogul 7200ch-10 which are .010 oversize.
The new ones i bought are a set of calico coated clevites.#cb743hn10 and are also .10 oversize.

So i bought the same size bearing but a different manuf and they are coated.
Should i be worried about this changing my bearing clearance?

My rod bearing clearance was .0027 with the old bearings.
This is for a 6.8 bbc rod with 2.20 rod journal.

I know it would be best to measure but i dont have a dial bore gauge.
If this should be withing a couple tenths putting me in the .0024-.0030 range,i would be ok with it but i just dont want it to be way off like 3/4 of a thousanth or something putting me way tight(.0020) or way loose(.0032)..
What do you guys think?

Taken right from their web site;

Calico's CT-1 dry film lubricant used on engine bearings, valve springs, oil pump gears, timing and transmission gears is 0.0002" to 0.0004" thick and generally speaking does not need extra clearances. A benefit of Calico Coated bearings is the allowance for tighter clearances. Keeping in mind that bearing clearances of .002" to .003" are typical for High Performance applications.
Calico's CT-3 dry film lubricant used on pistons is 0.0005" to 0.001' thick. With as many different piston materials on the market today, there are no typical clearances. However, CT-3 coated pistons can be installed with tighter clearances then any other uncoated pistons. Tighter piston to wall clearance will result in faster sealing and longer ring life, with less loss of power due to blow-by or for partially sealed rings

I did see that on their site but was wondering if anyone had any real world exp with these.

Would regular clevite h bearings be any different in size from the federal moguls i had in there if they are both .010 undersize bearings?

me too..bought calicos, 020 for bbc, and they wouldnt even turn over in motor..way too thick...you can smooth them down, but its best to check bearing thickness against your old ones..when we coat, cuz we do our own, i map the bearings for thickness..after coating then we can check for high or low spots and polish on them a bit to correct..never assume anything

Man,.001!
My friend works at Shaffrof, gonna mic the rod journals and use a dial bore gauge on the rods with new coated bearings to make sure tommarrow.
Would do it myself if i had a dial bore gauge accurate to .0001.
They are nice enough guys over there to let me do it there and use there tools.

Hopefully they are only .0002-.0004 bigger with the coating.
I have .0027 now so that would put me at .0023-.0025.
I can live with that.
We will see tommarrow!
