Unfortunately my GT-37 was painted bright yellow sometime in its life before I bought it. There are traces of Rosewood in the door jambs and behind the bumpers. The cowl tag shows the (78) paint code. When my Judge is finally finished, I hope to restore the GT-37 back to its original color. I have searched for years for photos of Rosewood cars and have found very few. Occasionally you can find a picture of a Rosewood '71 Camaro, or a '71 Buick Riviera. John Sawruk wrote recently that the total number of Rosewood GT-37s built was 71, the lowest number of any 1971 color.

I will PM about the clock. It probably needs a good cleaning/lubrication, or a quartz movement installed. No big deal.

The Buick looks really great. Is it the same 'Rosewood' on '71 Pontiac's?

Does anyone know '71 GTO Convertible production figures with Rosewood?

I believe it was the same Rosewood across the GM lines for 1971. Code 78.

As far as production numbers? Out of 5802 total GT-37s that year, only 71 were Rosewood. If you applied that ratio to the GTO convertible production total of 661, then you'd get roughly eight '71 GTO convertibles in Rosewood. That's not scientific statistical math as you can't apply the same ratio, so don't quote that number.

Let's just say "not many."

Did anyone else notice that the speedo apart from being in KMH had the odometer above the center intead of below?

It looks like a cross between a speedwarning and regular speedo. Strange, wonder why?

I like the color by the way quintessential early 70's look, make sure to get a set of platform shoes, a white vinyl belt and sideburns on when you drive it.
