Default Doug's and 76 Trans am

Hi All: What to talk to anyone who is running Round port Doug's Headers (D-581) on a 76 Trans am with Standard tranny.

What to know how they fit?

Any issues?

Ground Clearance?

These will be going on a 455 with #197 round port heads..

My other option will be to go with Ram Air Manifolds 2.45" RM-4-OS

Thanks for your input.

Good luck Chuck - I'm trying to figure out the same. Given my experience with Doug's (69 GTO d-port and 76 TA d-port), I'd use them IF the 1 7/8 were going to be enough. I have not used the Doug's round ports - I just like their products.

I am going to put a street build IAII with Eheads in my 76 TA - the 1 7/8 are just not going to do it.

I am leaning towards the Hooker SComps - unless I can find out something more (positive) about the Mad dog headers.

If you get some info, let me know. Lou

I'll post here too for Lou.
I think Maddog made Nunzi's headers for years - and I bought two sets.
Both fit very well, both 2" primary.
Put your fear aside and order a set.
I've seen the "H" brands hammered to death right out of the box to fit.
No experience with Dougs - but I've heard they fit well also.
