Default Brand new 70-72 Dash pads...in all colors to be available soon

Great news for the hobby! Found this ad over in CP:

http://www.classicalpontiac.com/cgi-...?number=121867

We have been discussing this in the Pics of a Just Dashes thread, and thought we should start another thread to spread the word.

Anyway, I emailed Glenn about getting some pics and just what he is doing to reproduce these dashes, and here is a copy of his reply to me:

Pat,

The 1970-72 GTO/Lemans dash pads should be ready in a few weeks, the mold, madrid grain vinyl and polyurethane foam are being tested, everything needs to be "dialed in".

At this time we will be re-molding your original dash cores, they are stripped to the metal and straightened, then they are remanufactured with the new vinyl and foam.

I am also producing a radio repair patch so that all of the cut-up dash cores can also be used, so if your dash is damaged do not throw it away.

We will have about 40 cores in stock and are continuously buying more cores, so we can sell them on an exchange basis, no waiting for 8 weeks like other dash companies. Guaranteed to be the best dash available at any price.

Photos will be available soon.

For 1972 You will need to save your original PONTIAC emblem and install it on your new dashpad.

Muscle Car Depot specializes in GTO, we are committed to providing the best quality and price for many GTO parts.

Thanks for your interest in our product.

If you have any dash pad cores available we would be interested in purchasing them.

Glenn Silver

Muscle Car Depot

37455 Mistletoe Rd.,

Squaw Valley, CA 93675

Got some high hopes here...I hope he gets it right....sounds pretty hopefull.

I preferred to bump this thread than this one
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...ighlight=radio

just curious is anyone has seen one of these new pads in person and can comment on how it compares to original and Just Dashes.

Chris

A few of us were wondering the other day what happened to this project.

Anyone hear of any updates?

Just what I will need for mine. I was thinking about just putting one of those $100 skins on mine since there are only two cracks on the top center part of the dash and also because of the inexpensive price. But, with doing a frame off restoration, it would be best to install one of these especially if it will last many years or "forever" Let us know what you find out.

I sent an email last week with no reply or even a call to the enclosed number. You'd think they would want to make money, apparently that isn't a priority.

Has anyone received a dash pad from this co. yet? It'd be nice to see someone on the East coast start this service.

Guys, this company is not someone with whom I would do business with. Their site says it's still under construction, and the phone number has been blanked to show nothing but zeros.

I called and left a message and emailed them in Feb., and am still waiting for a reply.

I think promising dash pads in July '08 was someone's pipe dream, I wish I was wrong.

Another poser.
