Default 70 GTO lower fender bolts

do the lower fender bolts, the ones that go under the fenders, do they go into nuts, or retainer clips, if so, what do the retainer clips hang on to, any pics would be appreciated, also, what wrench does it take to adjust your doors once the fenders are on, i read alot of posts that say to adjust your doors while the fenders are on, thanks

I would be facinated to hear about adjusting the hinge side of the door with the fender on, frankly it doesn't look likely to me. I've got all kinds of weird wrenches including a bent distributor wrench that still doesn't get it done.

The lower fender bolts attach to a large version of a typical fender nut, I forget what they're called exactly, but they slide over the sheet metal and locate a nut where you need it. The fenders use a lot of these, of varying size.

is that bolt the same bolt that goes into the firewall, cowl, and below pillar, to hold the fender?

The fender bottom bolts on with a long bolt because it takes about 5 of the thick shims to get the bow out so it lines up with to door good. Inline tube has the lower fender hardware kits with the correct pontiac only shims, long bolt and special clip nut. It comes with plenty of the thick shims you are going to need.

It is not the same bolt that is used at the cowl - they have a seperate kit for this location that comes with a few more shims and different bolts.

the bolt in the picture does not look any longer than the bolts for the cowl or door pillar.
