Default idler arm bolts?

Ok before I get the song and dance about not having the manuals to look at let me just say I did purchase an assembly manual and have looked at it.

However the quality is not not very good and I can't make out which type of bolts are used to attach the idler arm.

Any help identifying the bolts would be great.

I don't mean to sound like a smart a$$, but while doing the search I found many answer to post that start off with buy a manual.

I am in the process of getting my frame ready so I can sit the body back on the frame. Then I can finish the body work.

Also going to need the ID of the bolts for the steering box as well.

I took ALOT of pictures prior to disassembly and bagged and labeled all of the bags. However I guess some things just did not get bagged correctly.

Thanks Troy

The Steering box bolts are longish and kinda pointy on the end. I would recomend new ones, they are not expensive and the originals could be pretty rust. The Idler arm bolts are just regular bolts, I am unsure of the size.

Yeah, glad to see someone has taken the time to get a manual and do some research before the questions begin. The steering box bolts are as bobbyj1 describes, although I have reused them in every car without issues, but appearance to me is secondary. Will look at idler bolts and get back to you.

ok, I found the steering box bolts, I only found 3 but I am thinking that is all it takes even if there are 4 holes. I think I only seen 3 holes in the frame

The idler arm uses standard bolts 3/8" (possibly 7/16"). Using grade 8 bolts wouldn't be a bad idea. The factory used the pinch style locking nuts, with the beveled outside edge. A good hardware store should have nuts like that. I strongly reccommend using these because I've had an idler arm come unbolted, which was scary.

Here you go. Bolts are 1 1/2" long and use a 9/16" wrench. Bolt and thick washer go through the frame rail.
I can't get the picture to upload. There is a problem with the server. If you want I can e-mail it to you. Let me know.
