Default In Car Cam

Just got a tri pid and mounted it in the car to test it before I try it at the track. I wanted to post a link to it on You Tube to see what you guys think. This is my 81 TA with the Butler built 535, full exhaust and 3.50 gear. Car has run a best of 9.92 at 137.27 mph with Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. Best 60 foot so far has been 1.46.

Thanks,
David

Gotta love it! Looks good with the scenery kind of blurring out the sides! Crazy how that area has boomed with the new subdivisions! Have fun. JD

David, what are you doing in that sub-division with a "race" car? Looks like a pretty fun ride if you can keep in on the road?......thanks for sharing, just need to relocate the camera so we can see that BIG smile on your face!......Cliff

Thanks guys for taking the time to view my video and your feedback. The car is really a handful on the street, have to be carefull when I get on it !! I was at the top of first gear before I floored it and let off as soons as I went into third gear !!

The trans is a Turbo 400 with a forward pattern manual shift and the stock factory slap stick shifter. All the specs are on Butlers website.

Thanks,
David

Neat! Hey...thanks for the memory...my sunvisors used to do the same thing in the Discomobile when it was only running 12's. Had to take them out when the cage was installed.

You can use any digital camera that has a video feature or a regular Camcorder. If you use a regular video camera and it has a digital record feature, that works the best if the camera gets vibrated alot from the mount.
I just made a plate that has a muffler clamp welded to it and I have it bolted to the crossbar and insulated it with some rubber to cut down on vibrations. I can move it anywhere I want on the roll bar.

Dave, That was cool. I love the ending where you reach up to turn of the engine switches and pull the parachute

You could also make something using wood or a pipe and drill two holes in it the same distance apart as the bars on your headrest and mount the camera on one end. then take off the headrest, run the headrest bars thru your camera mount you just made and thru the headrest mounts on your seats. make sure the camera mount bar is long enough to clear the seat, and you can swivel the camera to face anywhere you want it and the seat padding should absorb most of the vibration. That way your tripod isn't taking up the whole back seat. Hope that all makes sense and some kind of visual picture.
