Mity Mounts. Premier. Pioneer. Whatever mount anybody sells all start out as Korean made mounts. Mity Mount takes a Korean made mount and adds a travel limiting screw in the driver side mount. Otherwise it is the same as the mount you'd find at any auto parts store.

two additions
One: sent pictures and description to Pertronics/Dougs, their response was basically "No one else has had a problem like yours" hmm, OK, that helps me alot.
Two: Tonight I went to change the break in oil and the filter- I used a stock pf24. Evidently I had not yet tightened the headers when I installed the oil filter mount and the filter. I could not for the live of me get the damn filter out, I could unscrew it, and I tried every possible way to remove it- to the right, left, up, down, cock it this way, cock it that way. NADA! Had to loosen the header bolts to tilt the header one way a 1/4 to 3/8 inch to get the damn thing out. All the other filters at the parts store were the same diameter. Came home searched here and found this thread http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...highlight=pf24 Good info went with the PF61- should be no problem getting this one in and out. Only question I'm thinking of now is will the oil capacity be the same? smaller filler = less oil? My gut says "yes, but not enough to really matter" Just a heads up for those buying the D590's FWIW a local Pontiac'er bought a set of the D590's after I told him that the fit was good besides the tranny crossmember issue. He had another set of headers in place but had lots of problems getting them to seal. He said this was the easiest set of headers he ever has put on. He did not have a issue w/ his crossmember. He's running a pypes X over. Thought it'd be fair to report anothers experience with the same product, as it was never my intention to badmouth Doug's just perturbed that my experience wasn't glitch free. oh yeah, his is a 69 GTO HT Howard

I had to use the equivalent of the AC Delco PF 61 on 73 TA with AC (and Dougs headers) as you cannot install a PF 24, I measured the volume difference between these two filters after cutting them open, the PF 61 holds ~ 0.2 quarts less oil. I still use the normal fill volume as I am not concerned with this small volume differenc

You guy’s are really starting to scare me with the fitment of Doug’s headers. I also have Doug’s but for E heads and will do a mock up tonight. Not coated yet so that’s a good thing. So the filter I should use is WIX #51045 That's napa Gold right?
Ps, Don't have insurance yet so I bought a dog

I haven't been back to put the PF61 on I know it will fit. Now after reading that the WIX or NAPA gold is a better filter I might go that route. Won't get to work on the car again until Sunday at best.
Decisions, decisions. Nice prioject you've got going there 70 Lemans. Nice dog too. The Dougs are still a nice header. Mayne the installation instructions should have mentioned the possiblity of needing a smaller diameter filter. Oh wait I didn't read the instructions- oops maybe they do say that,,,LOL!!

In the case of my 73 TA the filter issue exsists because of the AC Evaporator case, on the engine stand installing a PF24 was simple, the Evaporator case keeps you from installing the filter from the fender side of the engine (No AC likely PF24 would fit). The PF 61 allows for installation around the tubes.

techteacher5561,
Thanks for the complements When we build repair or just squeeze some power out of these old classics we need to know when to walk away. Come back with a fresh outlook. Works for me. Then again would be nice if stuff just fit right in the first place. 3 years later some gray hair even some blood spill but I'll never give up my dream! More pics,
