They only check a package if its leaking badly or somebody 'thinks' it may contain something hazardous but not labeled as such.All hazardous materials are to be labeled as such and be shipped in new package[box,drum,crate,etc] with msds papers on the outer carton.We are told if we think a package might be hazardous but not labeled that we dont touch,leave the area ,get a supervisor.Remember the Anthrax scare?Told us if we saw white powder on or coming from something,dont touch it.
