Do you mean the lock that's in the pic below? PY told me the ones they sell wouldn't work on my 72 Formula so I paid 175.00 for an NOS one on Ebay. I hope you can get it to work. Post Pics and Good Luck!

YUP, I passed on that ebay one when one was mentioned in a post that a repop of some sort was available.
Although it took a while to get Ill give it a shot. Ill get to it later this summer, and Ill take pics. I can make it work and look good Im confident PS, Do you have a correct mounting location? There isnt a factory one, since its not a RPO.

I was gonna ask the same thing. The part number 988993 actually shows as a 1972 Hood Lock. 70-71 Had a different part number.

No, like 80 bucks and just the cable and the lever, on the cable are the 3 mounting points.

Original accessory pkg remote hood lock pkgs were notorious for the chrome lever breaking. Loaded out '70-72 Olds Cutlass-442 & big cars often had a very similiar remote hood release. In the 80's, I used to pull the Olds versions whenever I found them- Pick-N-pulls, country yards, etc... most of the time, the lever was broken Def make sure the hood is well aligned, before installation.
