Take a look at the attached picture of my engine compared to yours....you should be able to notice several differences even though my picture is not from the best of angles.

FYI, not a huge deal having the Chevy engine in your car. They can run very well, but they are garlic to a vampire for the diehard Pontiac nut. Very nice car though, and the restoration looks like is was very well done.
UG, i was told it was a sb 400 it does not look look like other chevy sb350's i have had in the past.

if it is a chevy can you tell if it is a 400 vs a 350?

Easiest giveaway for me is the cylinderheads. The exhaust flange is a heck of a lot lower and angles down more than the other engines.

Bascom123,
Could be a SB 400. I don't know enough about Chevy's to tell you what to look for, but I am sure there are some ID numbers to look for on the block that would confirm what it is. Shouldn't matter as long as you are happy with the performance and you are not planning to modify the engine. If you are planning to change something on the engine, it may come into play.

Maybe Birds got build next to Maros "over there"?

but I`d still like to see what the body tag says,, just for curiosity ,to see how that was handled..

yes it is documented on Camaros.org that car "kits" were shipped to an assembly plant in Belgium for the European market.

Never seen this before or heard of this. Interesting. I would think that the car was sent there but then converted to their standards by the factory there. It would cost way to much to send individual parts or to remanufacture all the parts there. I'll have to remember this one .
