Maybe you have seen this but it is always interesting to hear what members think.

interesting carpet, at least the stance is right. the cracks in the trunk are probably solid bondo, no metal involved. my rusty quarters dont have any cracks in the trunk.. ha

I think the carpet spoils the look of the interior. Otherwise it is a good looking car. I read on the seller's site that they are asking $27,900! Seems pretty optimistic to me.

Like to see that stripe more closely , has to been painted on . I am sure the black is new . Has the desirable wheel well mouldings .... I dont think the front grille gto ever came in red . and dont think they put the 400 call out there but the grille had the attaching points for it .... I dont like the red carpet .... has the front rubber on the bumper . seats look alittle flat ..... But all in all looks good....engine compartment has some hard to find parts . better varify its a 242 vin ... 27500 WTH ,,, Be curios to see what it fetches

Because GTO was an option on the LeMans/LeMans Sport in 1973 I beleive it is impossible to tell from the VIN whether the car was ordered with the GTO option package, W62. You would need the build sheet data for that. This car has the engine code "T" which is the 400 CID V8, which is the only clue from the VIN that it is a GTO. I don't doubt this car is authentic. I note especially that it has a rear sway bar visible in the photos which was standard on the GTO and rarely seen on other cars in the line. The reason for this was because all LeMans cars came with 14" wheels while the GTO came with 15" wheels and the sway bar could only be obtained with 15" wheels in an upgrade handling package.

If any one want's some more info on the car, I have to go withinf 15 miles of it this week, I can stop and check it out. Give me a list of things to look for and I will do my best.

Even though the reserve did not get met, an the last bid was 16,200, I think it just goes to show that these cars are really starting to take notice.

I think that is good news to owners of this vintage car, at least from an investment point of view, although I sure don't look at mine as an investment. It is always nice to know that you own something that is appreciating anyway!

This was bound to happen, the market for 64 -72 muscle cars requires a second mortgage!

If hitting 70 coming up on stop sign isn't flogging it, what exactly is your definition of "Flogging it" ?

Not sold on the cracks in the trunk being bondo. I've seen that pattern and discoloration before, with Ziebart undercoating. Looks to me like it was Ziebarted and when restored, they sprayed the trunk paint right over the Ziebart.

I have owned 3 cars of this vintage and another possibility is what I have seen is the roxotone paint, the trunk splatter, cracks over time and then lifts right of the bare metal in sheets on the inner quarters. Agree with Brian, don't think it is bondo.

That too. If Phil brings his 73 G-A to the show tomorrow, I'll ask to take some close looks of his trunk (all original).
