Default Detroit Locker (with a dana 60)

I think I've seen descussions about different posi units... specifically detriot lockers - the pros and cons of the unit. Not to repeat and early been made question .. but

My limited knowledge of the detriot locker is that it has no slippage and that it's strong. My idea to prevent one wheel pulling harder then the other was to go with a detriot locker. Since my car will see limited street - I thought it was better then a spool and better then conventional posi units for traction under some harsh launches.

Its NOT stronger than a spool but is stronger than clutch or cone type posi. It IS safer than a spool on the street.

spools are not as bad as they are made out to be on the street, I ran one a while back and aside from manuvering in my driveway I could not tell that it was there.

Rain? even dust or debris could force front end to not follow the driver input. On the street you may be being as careful as can be, but if some dong comes along and you got to make an emergency manuever all I can say is good luck. Ever try to push a car with a spool? especially one with a flat tire?

It wasn't bad although I had street tires which is not exactly what most people run with a spool, but as long as I was careful it was fine.
