Default 71-72 RA AIR CLEANER

Is anyone using a Holley double pumper with a RA Air cleaner. I would like to install a ram air set up on my Lemans but I am running a Holley carb and I do not think it will fit with out some work to the air cleaner base, can anyone post some photo's of this set up if there are any. Thanks Dave.

Assuming you have an endura front end on your car. The RA air cleaner won't fit on a holley. My 71 Judge had a holley on it when I got it, and I put back the correct quad on it to get the factory look, and didn't lose any performance.

The car ran great with the holley and headers with glass pack mufflers too. I still have a nice chrome air cleaner that fit the holley if interested.

Another thing to consider is what throttle cable bracket you are running, depending upon your year, you will need one that will allow the cleaner to clear. 71 HO bracket is different than 72. A regular 72 bracket works for HO I believe.

Nothing is impossible, given the right parts. Personally, I'm a Q-jet guy, but there is an early GM Holley compatible aircleaner base that can be adapted to accept original Formula RA snorkles or std dual snorkle pieces. The particular base is factory shaped to clear a Holley center hung double pumper. It is also same diameter & has exact same height & same 1 1/2" drop center.

They sell Reproduction ones right here on our site. That is probably your most affordable bet. Originals go for 1-2K for the dual heat risers and are hard to find. they do crop up on ebay every now and again.

The 4165 series of holleys list# 6210 and 6211 have side hung float bowels, and will fit the ram air set up. They are set up for chevrolet and require a bend in the fuel line to the carburetor.
