My turbo 400 has developed a crack across the threads on the case where the pressure out line runs for the oil cooler. It is a hair line crack, but is pushing fluid out. Has anyone run across this before" I am hoping I can pull the tranny, have the crack welded and be on my way.

any suggestions?

I've had a crack in a case welded decades ago without problems but generally a crack is caused by something not being just right with alignment, etc. or from a sudden jolt or shock on a trans, like a driveshaft blowing apart, things like that. My

FWIW BOP cases are a dime a dozen. If you done want to swap the case out weld it up.
