Default A/C Hose Crimping Tool?

Have been looking around at/for crimping tools for my upcoming installation.

Anyone know if these tools can be rented at a NAPA or Advance Auto parts store?

Look in the yellow pages for Industrial Suppliers. These guys, in my area, do the crimping for you on high pressure and hydraulic hoses. They, generally, have a high level of competence with this sort of thing, and you do not have to buy the tools.

my auto part stores do crimping if you buy the hose from them and bring them the fittings.

Arrow Warning.............

If you elect to have someone else crimp your a/c hoses on your project, be sure to "clock" the fitting's location to the ferrules and mark them accordingly before crimping as the hoses do NOT rotate after crimping.

wheelspin, Excellent call. I would probably not have marked them (even though I would have them mocked up prior to taking them to be crimped, and then been very PO'd when I got home and they were jacked up.

Cammer, I have been looking at those all afternoon. We will see how much I am going to get gouged for first and then maybe it will be the same amount or close to buy a tool....good excuse to buy another tool.....

"But honey, buying the tool costs as much as getting it done and then I will never have to pay for it again....."

Default A/C ferrule crimping tools

I feel the same way about tools; I bought my mechanical (the dealers use cool hydraulic crimpers) crimper from Vintage Air for around a $100, about 5 yrs. ago.

marked them, got them crimped at a GoodYear Tire for $25.

They fit great and lay where I wanted them to.
