Air Vent 70 GOAT

Does anyone know how the air intake vent drains into the side footwell. We have a minor leak. Is there any way to access it? Also, there appears to be some sort of rubber plenum on the pax side air vent intake at about the 3 o'clock position. What is that? Thanks.
