Default Vent Drain

Is there a vent drain for the exterior air intake forward of the windscreen? My son's GTO leaks water onto the pax floorboard when water gets into this air vent. A location and type of drain hole would be good. I can't find anything in the shop manual about this particular area. Thanks!!!

no drain hole since no water is supposed to get in there.

Default Vent drain

Water gets into the vent anytime it rains or you wash the vehicle. Seems as though the water empties down into the side well on the passenger side.

That's because there is a rusty hole hiding in there. You might want to post this in Body Shop Tech. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...play.php?f=417

Another possibility - I poured paint in my cowl to find the leak, it was a bad seal between the floor vent and the body. I pulled the kick panel, used new goo around the vent and reattached. All better.

if you mean where the cowl opening is under the wiper arms, that body panel underneath acts as a rain gutter to direct water towards each fender. On the pass. side in there should be a foam block that acts to direct water around the wheelwell kickpanel floor vent. if the block is missing or not properly sealed, water will run down into the floor vent. You could put a drain hole in the bottom of the floor vent opening once you take out all the dirt, leaves, trash that has accumulated in there. If factory air and the evap is in there, that housing can have a hole or be incorrectly sealed behind the wheelwell. Mine had a big gap that allowed cold AC air outside into that cowl area.
