Default This was scarey (M/T tire)

Took this tire off of my sons Firebird today. Bottom shock mount came off, shock got stuck between tire and leaf spring. Kicker is, this happened last year. We have been racing on this tire. Tire was allmost new when it happened, now cord is showing on tread. He has gone 9.85@135 with it. Says something for the integrity of these tires. Not recomending doing it. Tire was mounted tubeless, leaked , but not bad. I'm going to need to be a little more attentive on this car.

Wow!! Always good to go over your car each time your go out. I just put mine up on a lift last week to go over suspension, tires, and undercarraige. Glad you caught it!

Time for a prayer of thanks to the almighty. Glad you got it in time before the inevitable happened.

Yes!

Last year leaving the track from making a few passes, I proceed to give it a 1,2 blast on a country road when the lower trailing arm bolt falls out and spins the car sideways shifting into 2nd gear. The scary part was, minutes before that happened I was making 112mph runs with a bolt on the verge of falling out. I cringe to think what could have happened at 112!

No, fixed the shock. Forgot about the tire.
