Will a '63 V8 trans work? Auto or manual?

Ken Freeman at east west autoparts has lots of tempest stuff and is real knowledgable on these cars. May want to be setting down when given prices.

Memory Lane in Wilmington, CA has a '62 that I think is an automatic. As I recall it was missing the pan, but you could probably get that from East West if you couldn't find one anywhere else.

Thanks guys, its a auto, sorry for not saying that in the beginnig. I have been running a 63 with alot modification for the last 7 years. Its just not worth the trouble, replaceing bearings and half shafts all the time. I took my old 62 transaxle in to be rebuild only to find out, the case was crack (?) and the pump needs to be replaced. Ken has one at east west but I was just trying to find one less money. I have a complete 62 3 speed setup but don't want to do unless I really have to. Thanks all.

Default tranny

I have one out of a 1962 tempest. Dont know whether it is any good car had no engine when I bought it but is was a very slick car. Converted mine to a traditional driveline. Would sell very reasonable but dont know if shipping would kill you. Im located at v73766 oklahoma. 100.00 dollars or what ever seems reasonable.

Thanks Rod, any chance you seperate the trans from the rear end. That would cut the weight by half.

Thanks Tom, haven't forgotten. Iam just trying to this one back on the road right now. I guess I won't make Fuddrucker with the 62 this year. I clean up the 64 and take that one.
