will a 1971 gto body fit onto a g body chassis

Don't think so...the G-body models are narrower and have a shorter wheel base. You should have no problem find a frame/chassis for your 71 GTO

Probably not, I learned about this one the hard way. We were racing a 75 Monte carlo (G body),and after an especially bad collision we decided that a Malibu ( A body) front clip looked like it would fit. We wasted a whole saturday morning pulling the Malibu clip only to discover that while the rear fender edges matched the cowl/doors that the place where the radiator support bolted to the frame was about 6 inches short ! I would think that you may find a similar situation.

No. G is also referred to as a "stretched A-body"- for a reason.

G-body will not work, totally different rear end area as well, the frame kicks out by the wheel wells where an A-body does not. (I assume you are refering to a 78-88 G-body)
