Default HOOD TACH

IM Kicking around the idea of a hood tach .who makes a good repop.whats the opinions on hood vs dash

Bob,

The hood tach looks really cool and is a blast to watch while your driving! Biggest problem with them are reliability and dim lighting at night. Remember, every time you shut the hood the hood tach gets jolted as well. Ames sells a nice repro and several others do as well. I haven't heard good things regarding the repro dash tachs, try to find an original GP dash tach if you decide to go that route.

thanks for the reply.I have a repo dash tach from performance years and Im selling it.I have an origonal getting referbed by the tach dude in jeffersonville ind.I sold my clock and would need to get a new one .but I think the hood tachs look kewl and would be easy to watch.

I have a repop dash tach,it works... but not well.
Dim light & I dont belive its very acurate above 5k.

i just ordered one for my 70 gp from original parts group. 194 bucs or so. don't know if they are cheaper anywhere else.

I have one on my gp. It will be a little hard to see since it's going to be 5 feet away but it does look good. Since I have a tendency to over rev I still use a pro comp inside the car for accuracy.
