Trim tag/Data plate help!
The trim tag/Data plate on my 70 GTO looks like this:
.......BODY BY FISHER...8.. ST70 24237...B805090 BDY TR...258...........63 63 PNT ....02B.......B.....0806....... Anyone knows what the 8 above BDY, the B and 0806 on last line stands for? On the buildsheet is says in field #24 (DP SEQ. NO) 805090 85 0806. Could the last 0806 be the same as on the tag/plate? On PHS papers it says date shipped 02-12-70, can this be right? How many days took it to build a car? Håkan Last edited by hakansan; 02-18-2007 at 07:11 PM. |

On the last line, the 02B means it was assembled February, 2nd week, so it's a match. It took one day to assemble a vehicle. And the 0806 on the build sheet and the trim tag should match although not all plants used the same trim tag formats. As to the 8 at the top, no clue. Same with the B at the bottom.

Thanks HFR, any clue what 0806 means? And the 85 on the buildsheet.(805090 85 0806) Only one day to assemble a car?!?! Are You sure? I´ve heard several days and up to 2 weeks. 02B 70 starts with monday 9:th so the 12:th is only 4 days after. By the way, do You know if, and where.. the EUN was on the buildsheet?

If the EUN was found on the build sheet, it would have been handwritten, I believe. No clue on the 85. If this was a Fremont build sheet, the 0806 would have represented this was to be the 806th car assembled for that day. But, I don't know if it's true for the other plants.
