FIREWALL MARKINGS FOUND...HELP
Does anyone have a 01D Framingham car, GTO or JUDGE? i was stripping the incorrect gloss black on my firewall. As i was sraping & the black chips fell to the ground i noticed yellow crayon marks, & could see a slight ghost of where they are. After collecting the chips for proof. i figured the what it said.
This was found behind the power brake brake booster & horn relay. With the parts back in place i dont think these markings would be visable but i intend to put back on the car. Ive got 242 or 258 over 72 72 . Which would be correct for a carousel red gto or black interior carousel red car. ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THIS??????? |

Scott,
I have an 02A Framingham GTO that is original paint and interior. 10 257 is very faint on the firewall under the wiper motor. My car is black/parchment. (see avatar) I only have one visible 10 but have seen other cars with the markings you described on yours. 72 72 258 would be Carousel/Black. Hope this helps. John |

I found '24237' on my firewall, partially behind the voltage regulator. Mine's a '69 Judge built at Arlington. I replaced the marking exactly the way I found it.

FWIW I replaced these markings exactly as I found them, and were the only marks I found on the firewall. 48 = Pepper Green and 256 = Dark Green Interior. I have no idea what the "X" on the bottom are for, anybody know?
The car is an early build 70 Oshawa Judge. |

No Jim , but it does have the Custom Sport Wheel. Why you ask?

I've seen X marked on the cowl and X on the steering column bracket of Formula wheel cars.

I can recognize 24237(model), 58 (paint), and 257 (trim) on mine, but the other numbers?
There are a 40, 51, 55, and 60 visible - anyone? Gary

60 may mean the car is equipped with air conditioning (C60)
just a guess.... |

That is accurate.

Interesting Gary. I know your car (455) is an automatic (M40). So, it has air conditioning (C60), bucket seats (A51) and center console (D55). Neat.

HFR-
Would the 51-55-20 I found on my firewall today mean bucket seats - console - M20? Frank

More than likely. All codes that would be used at Fisher.

How are you guys getting the paint off the firewall to still be able to see these markings? I painted over my firewall with black rustoleum 20 years ago without much regard for anything just to make it look better. Now that I want to do things right, when I go to start removing the paint I'd like to be sure I don't wipe out any factory markings if there were any. What's the best approach?
