$00 firebird questions
Hi guys, back for more. In looking at my 69,the alternator does'nt look like the C.S.I. alternator yet it is internal regulated. I know it's a replacement as there isn't any numbers on it. I found a brush holder in the box with the car. On page 6E-11 of the Pontiac service manual it shows it for a standard generator. What gives?
Next question is with the carb. It's a Carter Q-jet. Could this still be the original? I want to restore this back to a numbers car as it has not been molested, only maintained. Please bare with me for awhile as this is the first Pontiac I've ever owned. My dad had a couple and I have a great story for a later date about the 60 Bonneville.

I had recently read that in a mag (Dec. PE?)that GM-Rochester licensed carter to make some carbs. The finish and color was not as good as the rochester though. Don't know what the deal with that was...either cost or shortages?

Rochester could not keep up with the demand for the Q-jet so Carter was outsourced to help build Q-jets for Rochester in those years.
