Any GM techs out there?
OK it's not a Pontiac question because I can fix most electrical problems on my GTO. Here goes, the vehicle is a 2001 GMC Yukon. Rear wiper running really slow and finally died. Replaced wiper motor assembly($250). Didn't work so went to dealer and got a replacement(assembled in Mexico AHHHH). Put in second motor, it worked for 1 day. What gives? Should I go to dealer and get another one?
Should I be checking switch in dash? Is there a relay somewhere? Bad ground? When I turn the wiper on I can hear a ticking coming from the motor! Frustrated in The Greaty White North and the snow is falling!!! Any advice would be appreciated. John Last edited by FNFGTO; 12-07-2006 at 01:26 PM. |

John, I've got a 2001 Yukon but mine has the barn doors and no wiper. I've got the manuals at home so later today I can get you more info.

OK so after checking everything over again I tried something else. I replaced the 25 amp fuse. Guess what? It works like a charm. Can a stupid $.39 fuse have caused all these problems? Maybe poor contact on the old one?
Oh well. Expensive lesson learned. Always check the basics first. I love all things mechanical. Thanks, John |
