Question Trim tags

Does anyone know where the location of where vin numbers were stamped, I knoq they are on the trim tag, but I also would like to know the other places. I have a 1971 and a 1972 GTO.

Only the first 5 digits will be on the trim tag, the body serial number on the top right of the tag is not a part of the cars VIN. The partial VIN will be a 2 plus the last 8 digits of the VIN. It will be in small font on the front of the block, just left of the timing cover lower radiator hose connection and it will be vertical in this location. Also, it will also usually be somewhere under the perimeter of the blower motor cover on the pass. side of the firewall as well, though you usually need to remove the cover to see it. Last it will often be on the rear top of the drivers side of the frame rail just behind the rear wheel, very hard to see unless the frame is off the car and clean, and it didn't get stamped there on every car.
