They were having track issues all night. I left just before 10pm and they were still running time trials...

His first pass ended up being a NA pass, as the nitrous switch didn't engage.
The second pass was all over the place, in and out of the throttle...

After that the Dude will have to let us know, unless Brian gets on the 'puter first...

BTW, it was nice to meet Brian, and Dave 68 GTO!

David,
I was great to meet You, James (the best crew chief a Dad could have) and Brian. What did you think of that twin turbo Toyota? The second run the Toyota made, what was it a 4.47 and the camaro a 4.48? What a race.

Brian, I hope you had a safe ride home. You worked your tail off. I can't wait for my back to feel better. I was hoping to hang around Ken's trailer a bit more. When I jumped, alright rolled out of the Dude's trailer I hurt my back and had to find medical attention in pill form.
That place was packed. I think they had 10 -15000 people watching. I hope to see you at the Dec 2 race. Dave

Angry

Had hook issues as did all the Power adder cars.
Mopst of the Pro Mods had to abort and they has a 53 Corvette Pro mod change lanes take out the other car and flip on the guardrail. They aborted that class.

The track has issues since they scrapped it nd it hasn't come around yet. All but 2 of the stock suspension cars had issues trying to get down the track.

2nd and last qualifying pass the car had bad tire shake, worst I ever had and I had to lift. Then tried to power back and the car took off to the centerline. I lifted again to get it under control and matted the throttle. The front end came up and off at half track and i couldn't steer it. Crossed the centerline and I said... That's enough and needed to check the ole shorts back at the trailer. LOL.
It's making power. LOL.
Put 2 clicks in the rear QA-1's to 7 and put 2 flats on the one side of the Cal Tracs.
1st round got out about 50 ft and something broke in the tranny. Coasted to the end. Not a happy camper!!!!!!
Next post will probably be from a holding cell as i am going to see my tranny builder Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3rd pass and this unit is suppose to have every HD piece out there. Not like i didn't spend the bucks!!!!! And I know SH*T happens, but this is Strike #3 for this dude and people i have sent since this unit was build also have had major issues.
Orlando (not his fault)
Bradenton Street Nationals ???
VMP Sunday morning only time run where i found out why I red lit on Saturday against John ???
Sunshine Friday night ???

I know the best way to not break.

Stay home and watch it on ESPN.

I know............... 2.10 low T-400.

Its' only money right. Just another $5,000 for tranny, shifter, sfi TCI shield, alum driveshaft, etc. right? Wait, let me sell my first born.

Stay tuned.

Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel.

Ya, that Corvette that rolled was a NICE car! I have a pic of it somewhere, I'll post it when I find it.

This track S*cks! They have the parking lot/ driveway along the side of the track, and it's dirt. Halfway thru the event there is always dirt/dust all over the top end of the track. That's why the Vette rolled, you can hook for the first 300 ft, after that, you better hold on.

I'll never make a pass in my car there, until it gets better, but that won't happen as it's closing in a year or so.

I got way to much wheel hope and no traction there.

Ken, $5,000 for a transmission... DAM! I remember seeing the pistons you had at the shop, they were expensive enough. Its a fact, nowadays you need money AND knowhow to go that fast.

Some of my friend told me, when i was planning an engine, just to put a chevy 350 and a small blower or supercharger on it, for the money i was about spend, but I just love pontiac to much.

P-Dude, still try'n a p-glide?

Dont feel like your the only one.
Finding out even the best trany guys miss minor things...
Im on my 2nd trans build, nothing special, and cant even get it on the street!
One right after the other...WTF!

Ray had another one of his weekends at Memphis also.
1st practice run, an 8.60/1.35-60'
2nd, an 8.56/1.29-60'
Went down 1st round with a 1.43-60'. Tires up in smoke.
Most inconsistent car i've seen.
Needs chassis work as we all know, but you would think he could get 3 consecutive runs.
Well, at least he didnt break anything.
Hard to get and stay at your guys level, thats for sure.

I wouldnt say its inconsistant --------It consistantly blows the tires off whenever you put more in it to go faster than an 8.60
it made 6 consistant 8.60s passes in a row this weekend and 1 8.50s pass maybe I shold go gay race at 8.60 or take a few years of for r&d ------------- naw that didnt seam to work for the other guy

Brian it seems like the #1 guy was in the 8 teens, that's flying.

Keep at it Ray, you keep getting closer. Its like a puzzle, all the pieces are needed to make it work. Ken's got his puzzle together, 'cept for the tranny, hopefully the new trans shop will work out.
