spark plug gap question
what happens when spark plugs get gapped at .025 instead of .045 on an HEI car? I just regapped all of the plugs to .045 and it feels like it has alot more power. Or am I just hallucinating because I spent all of that time changing the plugs through my headers? Thanks again guys

I usually found that gapping the plugs "short" on an HEI setup resulted in a rougher idle......but no power difference between the two gaps sizes.

It seems to start right up now as well without cranking much as well. Thanks

If the ignition has the juice to fire it, a wider gap will result in easier startup and better cold idle because there is room to get more of the gas/air mix between the electrodes. Which was the whole reason behind the change to HEI--so the smog-era lean mixtures would be even drivable!
