fuel pump return line
Can the fuel pump return nipple be capped? I dont have a return line and i have a vented gas tank. I dont want to have to run the lines if i dont have to. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
thanks, Matt |

Yes you can cap the return on a mechanical fuel pump.
This will increase pressure and volume by about 10 to 15%. This usually doesn't cause any problems but on rare occasions can cause flooding when using a Q-jet carb. Capping the return will increase the chance of vapor lock but not anymore so than running a mechanical pump that doesn't have a return. |

What's the best method to cap the return?
I was told short piece of fuel line, bolt in one end, and clamped at both ends. Sound okay?
