Default 69 GTO window seal

I have to replace the exterior molding thats at the top of the door against the glass. How can I get the window lowered enough to get the screws out? Do I have to remove the glass?

Thanks, John

I think you'll have to remove the glass. It's not that hard once you have the trim panel off.

Yes, glass must be removed from the door. To remove it, take off
the two nuts that hold the glass to the window regulator track, then remove
the two vertical front and rear stops that keep the window from going up out of the tracks, then pull the window out of the door.

You may try removing the lower stop bumpers & lowering the glass enough to clear the screws. You'll have to guide the glass as you crank it back up to keep it from getting caught on the seal bottom once you've replaced them.
