Default 1968 WT 400 Block ?????

Hey Guys, I came across a what I think is a 1968 WT 400 Block.

On the Back of the block,The date code reads as follows L147 with a different set of Numbers that read 9790071 On the front of the Block Pass side 0365760 WT

On the Back of the block by the Dist. Hole Is a BIG 3 Does this Number mean anything? Thanks for your help!!

The '0071 block casting code would support your thoughts. 1968-1969 400. The 3 you found is the foundry line casting number. There should be a GM3 at the front side of the block. Good find, especially if you have the manual tranny with it.
