Default engine paint can't hold the heat!

Anybody know of a good engine paint that will survive the heat of my73 GP 400. I have tried "plastic coat" spray. That burns off at the manifold seam.
Any other paint better than that...thx John H Union Ky.

No.

Prime the block and heads with 1200 degree "aluminum" paint and then use the Pontiac color of choice over that. At least when the blue burns off the silver will still be there. Beats rust.............

No engine-colored paint will withstand the heat on the heads at the exhaust manifold seam and heat riser passage in the intake manifold. David's suggestion is the best I've heard.

Or, you could be like the guy back in the '70's with a yellow '64 GTO convertible that never started the engine. He pushed the car off the trailer and into postion at shows and pushed it back on. I wonder where that car is now. It was taken from a dealership showroom floor, engine painted, chassis cleaned and polished, but NEVER started up after that. The person that owned it was the son of the owner of the Pontiac dealership.

If you paint the high heat areas with stainless steel coating from
Eastwood and use three coats letting it dry 3 days between coats, then fog some
blue engine paint over the top ever so slightly, it should look good for several years
before you have to touch it up.

Gee, I thought Pontiacs came factory with paint that burned. I do not see a problem with a normal looking engine that's used. ON the other hand the guy who pushed hie yellow car on and off the trailer, reminds me of someone who has to wash their hands every three minutes and do a jig before leaving the front porch. BUt sure would love to see the car today.
