Daily Build Need A Little Help
Here it goes:
70 455 .30 over 4X 8 heads Edelbrock 600 cfm carb Holley Street Avenger intake HEI Doug Thorley tri y headers Should I get the Mildon alum water pump or the Flow Kooler alum water pump 1.65, 1.6 or 1.5 roller rockers. Will i have to elongate the pushrod wholes if i go with the 1.6? Is it worth it to go with the 1.65? About how much does it cost to elongate the wholes? Also what cam would give me good power for the street with this combo? thanks |

If you use the 1.65 you will have to elongate the pushrod holes. I did it myself so I don't know what a machine shop will charge. I would also suggest that you take a look at the Comp XE cams. I have a XE274H and I like it. It has good low end and idles pretty good. It also has good vacuum for Power brakes.JMO

I have an Ultradyne 288/296 cam and lifters for sale. 041 high lift style. Use HS 1.5 rockers, actually measure 1.59. 231/239 @ .050 .485/.507 with 1.5 rocker .514/.537 lift with Harland Sharp 1.5's.No need to elongate holes with them. Great cam for a 462. I switched to a bigger solid for racing. You'll need a bigger carb. Tri Y or 3 pipe header?
