12 volt
I need to run a 12volt wire (ignition switched) to my new MSD coil. What is the closest wire to get into? I am told it needs to be #10 wire. 67 GTO 400.
Coil is on center of firewall. |

Got to ask some questions first...are you using a point-triggered system or some other ignition system with your coil? reason for asking is that some ignitions and points for that matter, need a resistor/resistor wire to the (+) side of the coil.
A 14 or 12 Ga wire will do fine without needing the stiffness of a 10 Ga. The easiest place to find the switched ignition circuit is at the bulkhead connector. It's reasonably close to the center of the firewall. george |
