Default Diameter of G70-14 Tire

Hi,
I have finished restoring a set of 15x7" Rally II wheels for my 68 GTO. ( I know that they are not the correct 14x6" wheels for the car)
I need to know the diameter of the G70-14 tires that were OEM on the car.
I want to match my 15" tires to that diameter, so that my speedometer will be near to my actual speed. I can optimize the tire width and sidewall height once I know the diameter.
I have looked on various websites and found diameters that range from 26.2" to 26.8" for the G70-14s.
What is the correct diameter for the G70-14 tire?
Thanks,
Mike

Coker tire shows them to be 26.8". I would go with that. A 245-60-15 BFG Radial T/A shows to be 26.6" tall. A 255-60-15 is 27.1". I went with 235-60's on the front and 255-60's on the back on my 15x7 " Rally II's on my 69 Gto convertible.

Hi,
Any problem with rubbing or clearance?
Mike

I run the same size tires as 69gtocv. They fit perfectly and look great.

Unfortunately, mine is still not done. I was supposed to get it done this summer, but not to be. Next spring I guess

Six-tenths of an inch difference in the tire diameter is due to the different brands' construction and will not be visible whatsoever in the speedo. Split the difference and march on.
