Default 74 guage cluster

Has anyone removed their guage cluster? Mine was removed when I got it and Im having a hard time getting it back in. Do you have to remove the steering wheel?

Thanks,
Rog

By drop the column, do you mean take it off?

Just remove the two nuts that hold the column up,they are under the dash, mounted to the frame work that holds the brake pedal assembly in place as well.

Big black bracket, two 9/16" nuts, kinda hard to miss, right under the front of the column, just past the exposed portion of the column.

Loosen those nuts, and remove them, the column can then "drop" down far enough to get the cluster in and out.

Just be carefull those dash bezels are ultra fragile, they'll break if you look at them funny, especially the stand offs.

No...under the dash, there are two nuts that hold up the "saddle" of the column. Remove them two nuts, and the column should flex down enough to give you the room you need.

If you have a column shift, don't connect the "PRNDL" cable until the column is bolted back up.
