I suppose you're right...if you consider a small, tightly-knit group of guys (SEHREO)to be "the Pontiac world."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Joel Larkin, and not you, who founded OPRA?

Craig in case you haven't figured out, Scott is on a mission ridding the entire US of unwanted 61, 62 & 63 Pontiac Catalina 2 door posts.

Scott, at least were trying to build the Outlaw Pontiac Drag Series into something big. Tell us how to do that without starting small? It's guy's like you that try and put everthing down. Small knit group? Hell, I can probably only name half of the 30+ racers that attend on a regular basis! Not bad for only 2 years into this deal with minimal exsposer.
Yes, your right. Joel started OPRA. I never said I did! But at least I'm a contributor!

So tell us what you have done? Besides criticize

Craig:

Nobody's criticizing you. I'm simply saying to keep your facts straight. And your contribution to OPRA is your contribution to OPRA, not to the Pontiac world.

Please don't put those "contributions" on the same level as those of Butler, Wenzler, BOP or Dick Duclow.

Ok, maybe the use of the word world was wrong. How about Pontiac Community. Our series is for anyone who wish's to enjoy it. It was not designed for or do wish for praize. Of coarse it is not on the same level! No one tried to say it was. It is mearly a Race Series where we gather to enjoy our sport and meet new Pontiac enthusiast. I think so far I have stated only facts.

I'm still waiting for your answer.

Scott, OPRA may have been the brainchild of Mr. Larkin on the west coast, but it most definately has been Craig's idea to start the "Outlaw Pontiac Drag Series" at Mason-Dixon dragway. I wouldn't really call that a contribution to this board, but Craig and Mel (his fiance') have busted their asses to make an all Pontiac racing series work on the east coast. Our first season, we averaged 20 cars per race. Last year in our second season, it was more like 30. What will next year hold? Don't know, but it is obvious it is growing every year, so much so that fellow Pontiac racers on the east coast that are too far away to travel to Hagerstown are wishing we can rotate the series from track to track every month, so they can partake in the fun too. Maybe someday that'll happen, who knows. All I know is I'm grateful for what we've got do far. I've met alot of great people in the Outlaws' that race at Mason-Dixon that I would have otherwise never have known, and to put the racing aspect of it to the side, these are still some great people and my life has been enrichened as a result of knowing them. I still love the inside joke about SEHREO, but the fact of the matter is, it's now more like STHREO ("same thirty hillbillies racing each other").

Moose,
Come on now you had to have been a guest on the PY board before you joined and you had to see that a lot of post turn into pissing matches!
There a lot of interesting opinionated people on this board and as in life not everybody get along or on this board appears not to get along. Most of us are friends and where busting each other's balls. Get used to it it happens all the time! And as for this thread being about cranks it is more like "Twisting each other's cranks", these guys like getting each other's goat, no pun intended!

Enjoy the the PY and if you don't like what you see, there is nothing wrong with letting everyone know about it. Just do not be shocked when you become envolved yourself.

Welcome to the PY and please do not take anything personal you have to consider the source!!!!!

And watch out for the Scott Misus guy he is the King of Slamming!!!!! He's good real good!!! And he not really a bad guy he just want you to believe that he is.

Have fun and go fast!!!!

Hot Rod

Mopar performance offers stroker cranks for the A block. You can pick these up for about $325.

Setting aside the reliability concerns of the Butler crank, I look at it this way. I would rather give Bultler his $500 plus shipping costs for a new crank as opposed to searching junk yards or classifieds ads for a used crank. Once I find the a used crank I have to have it magnafluxed. Hope it passes. Then I have to have it turned.
The only disadvantage I can see with the new crank is that you can't turn the journals to achieve the exact tolerance dictated by the mains and rod big ends.

Unless you have lots of time on your hands, its probably better to just buy the Butler crank. Again, this is assuming the new cranks are reliable. Does anyone have any input on the reliablility issue? How do the other eagle crank hold up?

"Yes, sir." and

"No, sir."

Hey Hot Rod - You've had to say what you said in your last reply quite a few times lately. You should probably copy it and edit the name for the next situation. It'll save you a lot of typing. Or maybe you should have one for Misus and one for Gach and one for Topic changes etc...

Hey guys I claim nothing and disclaim everything! Just trying to to put things into perspective for this guy! We all know Scott and we all know Gach, does this mean that there bad people no way just a pain an the arse sometimes! If I took what parents and players said to me personally I would have quit officiating Ice Hockey eight years ago! I have been Officiating for eleven years and do it at the highest levels of USA Hockey, as well as the American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League. As a player I abused the Officials really bad and as a player I was known as a royal pain in the arse and was hated by most of the officials, (short fuse problem), I was a fighter and would stir the pot for the coach when asked. When I became a Officials boy what a eye opening expearence and after a couple of years of officiating I looked back and said boy what a arse hole I was and to tell you the truth I'am not very proud of it!!!!!
I now have a son that is playing hockey and I will be coaching him not to do the things that I have done!!! Enough said about that just want you guys to know where I am coming from.

Haven't people been busting your balls all you life in one form or another. Hell or Govenment has been doing it for years!

The stuff that is said to me, I kind of look at it as if the shoe fits wear it, if it does not then I don't!!! That's the point of what I am talking about!

So you guys were smart enough to figure me out good for you at least somebody is listening!!!! LOL!!!! Thanks guys there are a few good people out there!!!!!!!!!

Hot Rod

Anyway, I was talking with Rodney Butler today. He said they were turning down a new crankshaft yesterday. I forget how many thou he was cutting but he stated they are damm hard. A small tool bin attach the the machinery started shaking like Misus did when "Hot Rod" approched him at Atco. (lol)
My point, If Rodney is impressed, it's starting to sound good!
