I bought a set of deluxe belts at a swap meet last year. I have them in and been wondering if they're supposed to include a plastic stiffener "sheath" type thingie to keep them in a halfway upright stance instead of having to pick them from between the seat/console all the time.
I'm going to Tiger Run in Bend, Oregon memorial weekend. Maybe I'll find some there. Anyone? Appreciate the help

69 and 70 deluxe seatbelts do not have anything to hold them up but I have never seen a 71 I would guess they were the same as the previous years deluxe belts OPH would know the answer

To add to what Darren said, the '71 GTO seatbelts were just like the '68-70's...except date codes & some colors.
71GTO, I believe you are thinking of the plastic type "sheath" used on the front seat female belts on later 2nd Gen Firebirds. This piece usually is broken & the once erect belt "collapses" against the seat. This type setup was not used on pre '74 GTO's. [ April 30, 2002, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: ol' Pinion head ]
