I seem to remember several posts on this a few months back. I think the dealership doing this was Stampede Pontiac in Alberta. You might want to search the board for "The Jury" or "GT-37" I think it was one of those posts.

The one for sale in the link above is a '72. Were they still selling them in '72 and were they still putting chebby engines in them? Thought that stopped in '70.

Man, I would almost swear that this is the same car being sold on ebay, Same Dealer, same engine, heater hoses, etc. But new wheels and the stripe is gone?

Satman,
I think your right, it does look like the same car. Here's part of the cars description in the ebay ad:
"This is a Beautiful Car, Mechanically Sound, Very Presentable, Though it Will Not Be Perfect To Everyone. The Paint Is Nice, but not perfect, no car has a perfect paint job. I did notice a chip at the top right corner of the trunk lid that is about 1.5x2" above where the hinge is (accident from removing a vinyl stripe), but I didn't see any other noticeable flaws in the paint, though it is impossible for me to catch everything on all of our cars."

The 1.5" x 2" paint chip that they noticed seems like it's where the Jury vinyl stripe was.

I'm also curious as when Canadian built Pontiacs got a Chevy powerplant instead of a Pontiac engine? My 70 Canadian Judge came with YZ coded Pontiac power.

Steve, I think all the Oshawa GTO's were poncho powered. I know we built the Beaumont, which was a Chevelle with Pontiac badges and Chev drivetrain. I don't know why the switching.

Did you guys in the US have the Acadian? It was a Pontiac 'Nova' body--Not sure on the drivetrain.

Canadian Pontiacs had chevy power trains until sometime in '70 when they made the switch to Pure Pontiac Power. It apparently was some kind of import thing against GM or Pontiac as they could not be identical to US vehicles even if built in Canada and therefore would be considered imports. Import fee was too high.

Us did not have Acadians (Nova's). Chevy power train.

Are those ZZ's at the end of your signature actual z's or zed's. Sounds funny to say zed, zed, zed to indicate zzz. Oh, the ZZ stands for Zed Zed Top. I get it.

PS, My wife is Canadian and we just got back from Niagra Falls (US & Canada).

You're right Jack,

I never said out loud or realized Zed Zed top sounds funny............but not as funny as zeeee 28. (ha ha). It's no wonder all of us are cruisin in Pontiacs rather than ZEEEE 28's!!

Niagara is a pretty place...ever been out West here to the mountains?
