I'm replacing the cas tank on my 67 gto does it have to be a vented tank or can you use a vented cap? Thanks

I was just looking through he topics and saw no reply to your question. I don't claim to be an expert, but I just replaced my tank on my 66 Goat and an offer these thoughts. Air conditioned cars have an extra tube on the sending unit to help conrol vapor lock 2. if you install a tank with a vented cap I believe you might experience a flood of fuel out the rear if your tank is anywhere close to full, esp. if you romp it. The stock tanks have a metal vent tube near the cap on the neck that points up and connects to a rubber tube. Hope this helps. Terry Gross ctgross@webtv.net

My 67 has a non-vented cap and a vent on the neck like ctgross described. I would do it the original way.
