Does anyone have any info on converting ball bearings to tapered bearings on front wheel bearings for a 55 Chieftain?
Someone in the Yahoo groups mentioned that this swap was possible with off the shelf bearings but didnt provide any #'s. Thanks in advance for any info. Dan |

Have you tried going to reputable parts store and just ordering them by application.(car year, make & model)
Most all ball bearings will be serviced with a tapered roller. I have used the tapered rollers the replace my ball bearings as long as I used both bearing and races in my 8-Lug drums. You can usually get a seal to replace the old felt design. Outlaw Pontiac Racers Association"For Those Who Live The Legend" Do it now fool! Life is short.
