I need some quick advice. First of all how much should the push rod holes in the head be opened up to accomodate 1.65:1 rockers and where should it be cut? Second what angel(s) should the valves be cut.

Set up: 400 .040" over, zero decked, Edlebrock RPM cam (RAIV) and RPM manifold and performer 750 carb., 6x-4 heads cut .060" to 86 cc's, opened up for 1.77" exhaust valves, ported (flow unknown), hedman headers, flowmaster 2.5" exhaust with h-pipe, dynamax super turbe mufflers, 2004R trans, 4.11:1 rear.

Open the pushrod holes towards the rocker stud approximately 3/16". Blend down into the head about 1-1/2".

The valves should be cut at the stock angles. 30 degrees for the intake, 45 degrees exhaust.

Like Will said.

Open the Pushrod holes on the TOP-SIDE toward the Rocker studs.

I will be doing that tonight. Grinding bit at Sears Hardware are about $2.50 for "VERMONT AMERICA" Made in Japan 5000RPM Max rated. Thus far they held up as good as my $45 Snap-On bits at 28000RPM.

Thanks. I don't know if I will go with 1.65 rockers or not. Just want them open in case I want to later. The heads are off now so the time is right.

My "head advice":
