Hello, I am in the process of restoring a 68 GTO & upon removing the windsheild, a lot of the rusted metal came out with it! Anyway, what is the best way to repair this? The only way I can see is to weld in a lot of small pieces. Is there any aftermarket panels for this? Common problem? The rest of the car is very solid.
Thanks for the input

Had the same problem with a 69 conv't. Real bad cowl and windshield header rot. Try contacting salvage yards out west and see if they can locate the sections you need. Cowl section (not pillars) on the coupe and conv't should be the same, I think. I eventually got so fed up with the rust that I ended up buying a rust-free goat from an original CA owner.
