I will have my motor out of my 67 Firebird non-ac car in a couple weeks and was thinking it might be as good a time as ever to install my new heater core. Will I be able to get to all the heater box nuts without any inner or outer fender removal? I sure hope so. I just thought it would be easiest when I could climb on in and get real close to my work.

I took off the fender to make it easier. Sometimes the time saving way doesn't save time

I just don't want to ding my new painted fender the car was fairly recently been painted. You know how it goes it wouldn't go bad till after the paint job.

Play it safe and remove the wheelhouse, leaving the fender in place. Loosen the rocker panel fender bolts and GENTLY pull the fender out @ the bottom only enuf to allow the wheelhouse to rotate out and down. This procedure is described in the factory service manual.

Well I had to remove the fender and the inner fender there was no way I was going to rotate the inner fender out there is simply no room to do it. Wish me luck aligning everything back. I think I'll leave the fender off until I install the motor and tranny now. Any reason I shouldn't?
