I'm currently looking into getting new rims and tires for my 68 bird because my old setup will no longer clear the new front disc brake upgrade. Here's what I'm thinking:
American Racing 15x7 with 3.75 backspacing all the way around
215/65/15 up front
235/70/15 in back

or
215/60/15 up front
255/60/15 in back

Will these combos fit with stock ride height?

P205-60R15 will be the approx diameter of the F70-14 that came on a lot of the 1st generation Birds. Now you can go to the tire manufacture's web site and check the OD of the tires you are looking to use and see how far off you'll be.

I'm running 225/45/17 up front w/4.0 back space and 255/45/17 4.75 back space in rear. Hotchkis 1 1/2" lowering springs in front. No clearance issues. Stock height in back, a lot of room.

Here's a site to plug in different tire sizes to come up with the width/heights and rim widths.
