I'm using the log type stock 72 455 exhaust manifolds. I'm still using the 2" exhaust system that supported the previous 350 engine. I'd like to use a factory HO style 2 1/4" pipe from the exhaust manifolds back to the chrome tailpipe splitters. Will the 2 1/4" exhaust pipe seal with the stock exhaust manifold? Can I hone out the outlet of the stock exhaust manifolds a little for less of a bottleneck?

paul,
What i did on my 72 was have the exhaust shop use a short piece of the smaller pipe and then flare it to fit the larger dia. pipes. this doesn't look stock but it does work.
