Ok gang, I am new and live in S. FL and yes I CAN vote.

I bought a 1966 Bonneville Conv, drove it from LA and took it apart.

now I will be putting it back together an have tons of questions, please bear with me.

#1. the car had a rotten fuel tank, I bought a used one that has a little hole on the filler tube. must I use a vent tube? or can I fill the hole and use a newer sending unit? BTW, the oldsending unit was shot and the new tanks is not even close to what the old one looked like. Thanks

Hey, I live about an hour north of you. Id like to see the car. There is a '68 Catalina vert in the scrap yard I found today. That tank might fit better. I didn't get a look at it while I was there. Im gonna go back and inquire about the short block that was in it. I'll let you know what I find,

Give me a thumbs up, tell me "Nice Car!", but for god's sake, don't call it an Impala.

The motor and fuel pump should be just the same as the original 389. The only difference I think you are aware of is the tank is different and the capacity it holds might be different. What did the tank come out of?

Give me a thumbs up, tell me "Nice Car!", but for god's sake, don't call it an Impala.

I beleive it came out of a 66 bonneville, I can email u photos, not much to lok at. I have it sitting in one of the garage bays. It is in K200 primer with motor & trans out and rebuilt, all new interior w/carpets all ready to go back in. we pulled the right fender off to get to the blower motor then decided to change the heater core seeing we were that far along.

how do i get your email?

If you live that close check out our club website at www.ssgtoaa.org

We're listed as a GTO club but we take all Pontiacs. I have (2) '66 Bonnevilles and a '63 Catalina Safari. We are trying to expand to more cars and get more people involved. These cars are my life and I love to help people with them. The 65/66 fullsize Pontiac line are the best cars on earth.
