The RA IV (T) cam definitely will rump in a 455, there would be no question if you have a “cam” in your motor.

with out questions there can be no answers

Birdman,
FWIW, I have an 041 cam in mine. Definitely idles with attitude. No problems idling at 800 with a tripower.

I got that exact cam installed straight up in my 9.3CR 462, I installed rhoads lifters for better vacuum at idle. It idles very smoothly with modified idle circuit on my q-jet.
The main problem when not getting a big cam to idle right is usually not enough fuel. My q-jet got drilled idle tubes, enlarged idle discharge ports, and enlarged idle restrictions. After that modification I could barely notice any drop in rpm when going from park to drive with my stock th400 transmission.
Idle in park 650rpm in drive about 600rpm.
